REDDFORD HOUSE BLUE HILLS DONATES CHRISTMAS GIFTS

05 December 2016

Beneficiaries of the Reddford Blue Hills inaugural Santa Shoebox Drive were absolutely thrilled by the delivery of their Christmas gifts in early December.

Our ELS and Junior Prep children came on board and gave from their heart to this meaningful project, taking time to wrap boxes in colourful wrapping paper, and fill them with age-appropriate toys and educational items which were donated to two children’s homes located in Midrand.

The first delivery to the New Jerusalem Children’s home was quite emotional. The residents were clearly very touched and moved by children's generosity. The centre was established by two sisters, Anna and Phina Mojapelo, in 2002 with help of volunteers, government, the corporate sector and private donations. It is a place of safety for abandoned and abused, orphaned and vulnerable children and has sheltered more than 1000 children since its establishment in September 2000.

Our last stop for Santa Shoe boxes to Yenzani Children's Home, established in 2002 by Sanne Mirk. Yenzani is an isiZulu word that means “make it happen” or “do something.” Taking up this this call to action so sincerely, by doing something truly meaningful, we wish to sincerely thank all Reddford House Blue Hills students and parents for their generosity and enterprise!
